The Price of Paradise (Doctor Who)

(Review by Trent Slabaugh)
Recently I have purchased a lot of books and the list of books that I haven't read is starting to pile up. Shortly before the ORIGINS Game Fair 2008 I picked up a copy of The Price of Paradise by Colin Brake.

This is actually not the first of the new Doctor Who books to be published but something about the cover jumped out at me.

First of all I have to say that I love David Tennant as the 10th Doctor and Billy Piper as his companion Rose Tyler. So I was really sad to see Billy Piper leave the show at the end of Season 2. Since then I haven't seen a whole lot of Season 3 and none of Season 4.

The Price of Paradise allowed me to "relive" the great relationship between the Doctor and Rose. Colin Brake did a masterful job of capturing the personality of both characters. The Price of Paradise is fairly uncomplicated and at times predictable. It was an easy read (that is once I put aside all the other stuff I had on my plate) and kept me entertained throughout.

The Price of Paradise isn't the best of Doctor Who, it is a good book and well worth reading.

I give The Price of Paradise by Colin Brake 4 out of 5 Stars
